Kerry Kiley’s guiding principle is simple: You may not be able to right every wrong, but you should certainly do whatever you can to make this world a better place. As such, the senior workforce program manager at Workday has been working for over 10 years to influence and improve DE&I in the workforce solutions ecosystem and has worked to weave the same into programs at a foundational level.
Her firm belief: “If you have access to jobs, you should give others a chance to excel.”
Kiley recognized early on in the development of DE&I in contingent workforce programs that having a program that amplifies broader DE&I efforts requires engaged constituent and program users that support partnerships delivering on candidate and experience diversity, instead of just checking the box for diversity spend.
At Workday, Kiley supports the company’s diversity approach to value inclusion, belonging, and equity, or VIBE, while working to amplify the efforts of Workday’s diversity-focused partners. She is involved in several efforts including increasing opportunities for supplier diversity.
Kiley played a pivotal role in the area of equity at a previous program management role prior to Workday, where she was instrumental in launching the first contract requirements for partners to provide a $15 minimum wage to all contractors assigned, paid sick leave/vacation time, and a paid family benefit in order to spur the industry to ensure contingent workers were incorporated for broader benefits through their employers.
Kiley has big plans around DE&I for the decade ahead: “As we expand and grow, there will always be that lens of DE&I to guide us through.”
